Thank you ahead of time for your support!
On behalf of the Columbiana Administration and Board of Education, we would like to say thank you to our parents for upholding the practice of keeping your children home when they are ill. We realize that there are many infectious diseases out there other than Covid, but keeping students home to rest and recuperate has definitely slowed all transmissions. In fact, based on our District Covid Dashboard https://www.columbianaschools.org/article/521972 only a very small percentage of our population has been impacted. Again, in addition to the mitigation procedures here at school, your continued diligence and support is appreciated. Lastly, as a reminder, face masks are required on public transportation and this includes our school buses. If your child is a bus rider, please make certain he/she has a mask for the bus ride. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Joshua Dixon: Good Afternoon what an amazing first day of school! Just a reminder for those parents picking up children at Joshua Dixon this afternoon… If coming in from Stanton and making a right, your line will be curb-side in front of the gym. If you are making a left and pulling in, please stay in the second line of traffic. You will need to place the yellow/golden FAMILY NAME TAG from Open House last evening, on your dashboard. If you did not get one, please MAKE ONE for today and your child will be bringing the school-made one home this afternoon. This will be very help and appreciated by those on duty. As many are aware, there is construction on Salem Street preventing our buses from pulling out in the normal fashion, so please be patient and allow buses the right-of-way, especially pulling out of the ally across from the library entrance. Just remember, everyone stays in their vehicles and we will get your child to you. Students who walk home will be dismissed shortly before car riders. Please do not park and ask for your child to be dismissed as a walker. The students know and understand the rules and the process and this confuses them. Again, if not physically walking, students of those parking will need to wait at the front entrance until all car riders are dismissed. This process is not for the impatient but, given time and practice, it works and most of all it is safe. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
