Dixon Reminder: Good evening just a reminder that students do not have school tomorrow (Fri. 9/2-Mon. 9/5) in honor of Labor Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday 9/6/2022. Have a great weekend.
Dixon Families we want to let you know that we had an unplanned fire evacuation today. The installation of new boilers and the work being performed on them affected the air quality in the boiler room-setting off the fire alarm. Students and staff quickly evacuated. All are accounted for and once the fire department gives the all-clear, we will re-enter. Students and staff did a great job!
Dixon Reminder: The first day of school is tomorrow 8/24/22 for 1st-4th Graders. Drop-off runs from 8:10-8:25. Please remember, in order to keep the line moving, cars must pull-up to the flag pool. Students are to exit cars all along the line under the awning. If you have items to drop-off that your child cannot carry, please park and bring the items to the front entrance where someone will collect and take to the appropriate classroom. There are plenty of staff on duty to make certain students find their way to class-there is no need for parents to walk students into the building. We will begin calling car rider names at 3:00 p.m. for dismissal. The arrival and dismissal routines are the same as last year and were explained in both the newsletter and information packet that went home during last evening’s open house. PreK and K will be testing tomorrow-Friday and their first day will be Monday 8/29/22. I hope the students are as excited as we are to begin a new school year!
The Joshua Dixon Staff is excited to welcome everyone back to school! We hope you have had a wonderful, fun-filled summer. Here is the link to the Joshua Dixon Webpage, where you will find our handbook, time schedules, calendars, supply lists, and the Aug./Sept. 2022 Newsletter. All are located under the documents icon. See everyone soon!

Dear Dixon Families,
We have recently discovered that some important emails have been inadvertently delivered to our SPAM folder instead of our primary email folder. That being said, if you have emailed your child’s teacher, building administrators, building secretary, and/or school RN, please follow-up with a phone call if you do not hear back in a timely manner. The lack of response may be because the email went to SPAM.
Additionally, it has been reported that during drop-off and dismissal, residential drive-ways are being blocked. Please be diligent and considerate and do not block drive-ways as residents need to get in-out of their drives for various reasons including emergencies.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
