It is with deep sadness that we reflect on the passing of Mr. Dan Bekar, a cherished teacher, friend and mentor to many within our Columbiana School family and Columbiana Community. A true Clipper at heart, he played a significant role in shaping the lives of countless students. Mr. Bekar's commitment to education and community extended beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his roles as a dedicated teacher, coach, and Columbiana City Councilman. His impact reached multiple generations of the Columbiana community, whether imparting knowledge in the classroom, guiding students through physical education and wood shop, coaching student-athletes or volunteering in countless community organizations. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the Bekar family.

Please keep the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District in your thoughts and prayers. Today, Tuscarawas Valley students were on board a charter bus headed to Columbus to perform for the Ohio School Boards Association conference when it was involved in a very serious accident. At lease six individuals have lost their lives and another 18 have been injured. Our hearts go out the Tuscararwas community.

CMS Reminder: The Behavior Contract and Permission Slip for the 7th grade Pittsburgh Zoo field trip is due this Friday, 11/17. If you have not already, please complete and send the paperwork in with your student as soon as possible. CMS Reminder: Our middle school Veterans Day program is tomorrow (11/9). All veteran guests should park and enter the high school for our 9 a.m. breakfast in the CHS Commons/Cafeteria, followed by our program in the auditorium. Congratulations to our CMS cross-country athletes who ran at the state meet in Columbus this weekend. Jaydyn Dickey ran her first two-mile race this weekend in a 6th-grade and under race with over 200 participants. Peyton Boggs, Landon Snyder, and Caleb Witherstine represented the boys and Kaitie Benner, Reagan Boley, and Sidney Schlueter represented the girls in the fast and highly competitive Div III race. Our athletes ran an amazing and successful season this year, and we hope that others who like to run will join them next season. Have a great day & Go Clips!
