CMS: To help with any confusion, there are two dances for 7th/8th grade students. The informal, neon dance will be held on Friday, February 24 from 6:00 pm. Attention Clippers: as of 11pm Monday the Columbiana county EMA has been conducting testing and there are no advisories for Columbiana County outside of East Palestine for the county. EPA testing has been from East Liverpool to Columbiana monitoring the air and they have received zero reportable contamination of the air. We are currently clear for a regular schedule for today. Out of precaution, all school activities will remain indoor including any recess activities. Thank you for your patience.

CMS: Our 6th-grade life skills class had previously started a food drive. The drive will run through Friday, February 10th. We will coordinate with The Brightside Project and/or The Way Station to provide any items that may benefit residents and first responders related to the train derailment in East Palestine. Desired items include non-perishable food, personal care products, diapers, and clothing. Applicable items that are donated at CMS will be forwarded through the appropriate organization. CMS: Good morning Clippers! Our 6th grade Career and Life Skills class has started a food drive for Columbiana residents that will run through next Friday, February 10th. Look for bins outside the office and in the cafeteria. Our students are asking for your help by bringing in canned goods and other non-perishable items such as: fruit cups, peanut butter, pudding, mac & cheese, and rice. We would love your help! CMS: Columbiana administration is aware of troubling comments made recently. These situations are taken seriously, reviewed, shared with our school resource officer, and closely monitored. We understand that these situations may cause a great deal of stress and anxiety for our students, families, and staff. We ask our families to monitor their child’s technology interactions and to speak with them about appropriate online behavior. If you or your child become aware of a potential threat, please notify the school administration. Out of an abundance of caution, there may be an increased police presence anytime our administration or local police department deems it appropriate.

CMS: Congratulations to our band students on an amazing concert evening on Sunday, December 11th. Congratulations to Mr. Miller, Mrs. Silver, and their 6th-12th grade students on an amazing evening of performances! Best wishes to our choral students as they prepare for their concerts. CMS: Any students interested in CCP for next school year (new and returning students) may pick up Letters of Intent and Mature Content Permission Forms in Mrs. Cleghorn's Office starting tomorrow. These must be turned in to Mrs. Cleghorn by Tuesday December 13th if you would like to participate in Eligibility Testing with YSU. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Cleghorn in the high school counseling office.
