Columbiana Exempted Village School District

The first day of school still remains, Tuesday, August 25th (Grades 1-12) for Columbiana Exempted Village Schools. The first day for Pre-K and Kindergarten remains Monday, August 31st.

In order to effectively plan for remote learning, Columbiana Exempted Village School District will begin the year with a delayed start schedule. We will operate on this schedule until further notice. The start of the school day in each building will begin approximately 45 minutes later than normal. CMS and CHS building tardy bell will be at 8:20, students may enter the building at 8:00. Joshua Dixon tardy bell will be at 9:10, students may enter the building at 8:55. More building-specific and transportation information will follow. Thank you, have a great day and Go Clips!

Reminder to all parents/students who use the Clipper app for notifications: Please remember to update your notification options to reflect any building changes. If you child has moved to a new building, you will likely want to receive notifications for that building. Please open the app, click the top-left menu bar and select settings. Hello Clippers: We are preparing for the upcoming school year with health and safety at the forefront of our schools agendas. The Columbiana Exempted Village Return to School Plan for the 2020-21 school year will soon be available on the district website. The plan includes detailed information regarding learning options for a traditional face to face or remote environment, as well as, the safety and health protocols necessary to restart our schools this fall. We will notify you via the school app about the plans location and availability on the web-site. Building level plans will be sent out to each family with details about each of our distinctively different buildings and grade levels. Dear Parents of fall extra-curricular activities students: The Columbiana School District has partnered with QUICKMED Urgent Care to offer COVID19 testing and pre-participation physicals on July 8th for any student entering grades 7-12 that will be returning to school for activities this summer for the fall extra-curricular programs. QUICKMED will not charge a fee, copay or co-insurance for families, but your insurance provider will be billed for testing. For those that do not have insurance, QUICKMED has agreed to cover the cost of the testing at their expense. Results for live virus take on average 48 hours, with antibody testing being resulted on site in 10 minutes. Physicals: Free Pre-Participation Physicals will also be provided to any student-athlete or marching band member who needs a physical for the 2020-21 school year. For those students who do not want to be tested, QUICKMED will charge $20 for the pre-partition physicals. The pre-participation physicals are free for those students participating in the COVID19 testing process. Physicals from Dr. Heintzelman are available on July 11th from 8:00am – 12:00pm by appointment through Ms. Heasley for $10. Contact Ms. Heasley at 330-506-3811 or via email at erin.heasley@columbianaschools.org. The physicals are held at Dr. Heitzeleman’s office @ Mercy Health, 107 Royal Birkdale, Columbiana, Ohio. Appointments must remain in your car in the parking lot until the appointment time. Masks are required. In order to have your child participate, you will need to provide the following documentation: 1. A completed QUICKMED new patient Registration Form. 2. A completed QUICKMED consent for Medical/Surgical/Emergency Treatment and Child’s Medical Information Form. 3. A 2020-2021 Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form 4. SENIOR PARADE RESCHEDULED - Due to tonight's dismal weather forecast and Saturday's beautiful forecast, the parade has been moved to Saturday night. Students should begin arriving at CHS at 5:00 (5:45 at the latest). The parade will depart from CHS at 6PM on the original route. CLARIFICATION ON DRIVING ARRANGEMENTS: We are asking a family member to drive the car, if possible. This will enable the senior student to safely pay attention to the surroundings throughout the parade without having to focus on driving. Thank you!
