for individuals and families affected by rare diseases. The official colors for this day are blue, green, pink, and purple.
These vibrant colors symbolize the diversity and strength of the rare disease community. We invite all students and staff to join us by wearing one or more of these colors on Friday, February 27 to show support and help spread awareness.
If you would like to learn more about Rare Disease Day and its mission, please visit the official website at Rare Disease Day. Thank you for helping us promote kindness, understanding, and awareness within our school community.

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, all Juniors will be taking the state-funded ACT. Following the completion of the test (approximately 12:00), Juniors will be excused from school, provided transportation has been arranged and the permission form has been returned to the office (students will receive the form on Friday).
All Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors will be excused from school on Feb. 24, as professional development will be provided for teachers following the ACT.
CCCTC Students: Transportation will be running, as usual. Juniors are excused from CCCTC. However, if full-day Juniors still wish to report to CCCTC after ACT testing, individual transportation will need to be arranged. ALL Seniors (half-day and full-day) are required to attend CCCTC. The Rotary 4-Way Test Speech Contest challenges high school students to develop and deliver a 5–7 minute speech that analyzes a chosen topic through the lens of Rotary International’s Four-Way Test. Created in 1932, the Four-Way Test promotes ethical decision-making, integrity, and responsible leadership. The contest encourages students to think critically, speak persuasively, and apply ethical reasoning to real-world issues.

Participants select a topic they find meaningful, relevant, or timely and evaluate it using the Four-Way Test’s guiding questions: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Through this process, students demonstrate their understanding of ethical standards while strengthening their public speaking skills.

Congratulations to our Columbiana High School four way speech winners.
