CHS FAFSA Update: The Class of 2024 attended a FAFSA Presentation this morning given by Reagan Stull, Associate Director of Financial Aid at the University of Mount Union. In this presentation, seniors learned what the FAFSA is, how to complete the many steps of applying for Financial Aid, and tips on how to move through the FAFSA form. The FAFSA will open in December and we are looking at scheduling a Financial Aid night in January for an opportunity to assist any of our students and families with this task. CHS Veterans Day Recognition: Columbiana High School invites all community veterans and active military servicemembers to attend a Veterans Day celebration on Friday, November 10, 2023. CHS Athletic Update: Congratulations to our Clipper Volleyball team, as they secured the EOAC Championship tonight! There's still time to support the team as they travel to Wellsville this Thursday to try and wrap up an undefeated league season! The girls will also play at Struthers (10/9), at home against Springfield (10/10), and at home against McDonald (Senior Night - 10/12) before post-season play. Way to go Clippers!

CHS Picture Retake Day: Picture retake day will be this Wednesday, Oct. 4 at CHS, beginning at approximately 11:00. Any students or staff members who did not get their picture taken previously or would like a retake should stop in the office prior to Wednesday for an envelope. Thank you.

Junior Class Parent Meeting: There will be a junior class parent meeting this coming Thursday, Oct. 5, beginning at 5:30PM in the CHS Media Center to discuss this year's prom. CHS Athletic Update: Congratulations to Clipper golfer Rocco Crawford and our girls' golf team for advancing to next week's District Tournament. Rocco will tee it up at Tannenhauf Golf Club next Thursday while the girls will play at Good Park Golf Course on Monday. Good luck golfers! Thank you to the Columbiana Interact Club and Clipper teachers Mrs. Baylor and Mrs. Silver for their help after school yesterday. The Interact members took time after school to assist the Columbiana Rotary with their annual book sale. The students and Club advisors quickly made 3-4 hours of work to set up set up the SALE into about 1 hour. Great Job Clipper Interact members!! CHS Picture Day Tomorrow (CCCTC Students): Half-day PM students will have school pictures taken tomorrow at CHS before leaving for CCCTC. Half-day AM students will have an opportunity to have their pictures taken at CHS on retake day (Oct. 4). Full-day CCCTC students will have pictures taken at CCCTC on their scheduled day. Thank you!

Sophomore Students and Families: Our 10th grade class has been invited to the Skilled Trades Expo at the Canfield Fairgrounds on September 20th. This event will expose our students to career options in the Construction Trades. We understand that the construction trades are not for everyone, however, we would like all sophomores to attend this event to serve as an experience provided to them in the area of career exploration. A permission form will be coming home with your student. Please be sure to return it by September 15th so your student can attend. If you have any questions about the field trip, contact Mrs. Cleghorn in the high school counseling office. Thank you!
